Vancouver indie-rock trio The Hausplants are back with their new single, “Render Me.” Their single precedes the deluxe edition of their latest project, Into Equilibrium, which releases May 29, 2026, and builds further on the sonic and emotional world introduced on the original EP.

Alongside previously unreleased songs written during the same era as Into Equilibrium, the deluxe edition will also include a collection of remixes created with local producers, giving several tracks a fresh reinterpretation.

On “Render Me,” the band explores themes of burnout, isolation, and emotional exhaustion. Rather than leaning into explosive vocal moments that often define their sound, The Hausplants intentionally approached the track with a quieter, more restrained energy, focusing on atmosphere and tension without relying on dramatic crescendos.

“Render Me is about feeling burned out and depressed. Not recognizing yourself, and staring at the ceiling on a beautiful day. It's about wanting to ask for help but not knowing where to start, or whether it's worth the effort. - The Hausplants

The release also marks a transitional moment for the group as they continue work on their forthcoming debut LP. According to the band, the additional songs to be featured on Equilibrium (Deluxe) felt more connected to the original EP than to the material currently being written for the full-length record.

Known for blending emotional depth with expansive indie-rock textures, The Hausplants consist of Amir Alav (guitar), Sondor Mendbayar (drums), and Anna Zeleny (vocals/bass). Since forming in Vancouver, the trio has steadily built a reputation for immersive live performances and socially conscious artistry.

When writing it, we made a conscious choice to keep it quieter and more restrained. Looking back at most of the songs we’ve worked on, there's almost always a moment where the vocals push to a scream or a long, high note. We wanted to challenge ourselves to create something dynamic without the vocals leading the charge. - The Hausplants

Their 2025 EP Into Equilibrium received support from MusicBC and earned attention from outlets including The Georgia Straight and Side Line Magazine.

Following the release of Equilibrium (Deluxe), The Hausplants will head east for a run of shows in Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto beginning June 11, before returning west for performances in Vancouver and Squamish.
